Lee Lawrie With His Cats

The Australia

In February 1881, Louise Belling and her son Hugo arrived in New York above the steamer Australia. Passenger Nos. 256 and 257.

Although like many Americans, Lawrie was born somewhere else.  They settled in Chicago, which was a fairly tough place in the 1880s.
