Meanwhile,  back in Manhattan...

While the Capitol was being built out West in Nebraska, architects Cross and Cross where building the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Manhattan, now known as 20 Exchange Place in Lower Manhattan, across the street from the original Delmonico’s Steak House.  

If Lawrie did not have a hand in creating these pieces, especially when compared to the side-view bison on the Capitol, I’ll eat my hat.  They are attributed to another sculptor, but clearly, two people on this planet do NOT independently think of two separate designs, so similar.
